Bryan Owen Gibson died Monday, February 10, 2014 in St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He leaves behind his daughter, Pamela Brechelle Stanbery Gibson, 16, of Middleburg, Florida, as his only surviving close family. Bryan was predeceased by his parents, William ”Bill” and Martha Gibson, of Cleveland, Tennessee, and his sister, Pamela Gibson Cardosa of Nashville, Tennessee. Bryan was an artist who cared more for the treasures his mind could create than the material things of this world. In his artistic career, he is best known for creating the signature stylized look of the Traveller role-playing universe. He was an accomplished musician, artist, costumer, cook, carver of horns and brewer of mead. His artistic endeavors expanded across all forms of art, from graphic novels to pen and ink sketches to manga and anime. In addition to his creative endeavors, he gave back to the body politic with service in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist and in the United States National Guard as an Artilleryman.
Bryan is to be cremated, as per his last wishes, and then interred in the National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Bryan Gibson Fundrazr memorial to help with Bryan’s final expenses.
